Parents & Families –
Let me begin by saying I am missing your child’s smiling face so much! It goes without saying that we are facing a crisis that most of us never even imagined. Your child (as well as us adults!) may be struggling with feelings of anxiety, stress, uncertainty, even grief. I want to help any way I can.
I can be reached anytime via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or voicemail (580) 497-3371 x229 (I can still access voicemails from home). Weekdays from 8 until 3, I will closely monitor my email/voicemails so I can reply as quickly as possible to any questions you have. Please contact me if you have any concerns regarding your child – we can set up a phone call or a zoom video call.
For 7th through 12th grade students, I am setting up grade-specific sections in GoogleClassroom to get important information out to them regarding things like scholarships, ACT dates, Oklahoma Promise, concurrent enrollment, etc.
Also, I included links to a few documents.
- First is a list of a variety of resources – mental health resources, physical needs resources, as well as self-care ideas. https://5il.co/eet3
- Second is information on obtaining emergency broadband internet connectivity if your family needs it. https://5il.co/eeta and https://5il.co/eet7
- Finally I’ve included a newsletter from the OSDE on talking to children about COVID-19, how to identify stress/anxiety in different ages of kids, and ideas on how to help your child. https://5il.co/eet4
Please let me know how I can be of assistance to you and your family during this time!
