Since the launch of Women in Aviation International's Girls in Aviation Day in 2015, the Oklahoma Girls in Aviation Day has experienced remarkable growth each year. On September 20, 2025, the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics, the Oklahoma Airport Operators Association, AAR Corporation in Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma City Airport Trust, Pratt & Whitney, Critical Components, the Oklahoma Aerospace Foundation, the Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority, and the Oklahoma Air and Army National Guard will host over 500 enthusiastic girls. This inspiring event will take place in Hangar 2 at the AAR facility at Will Rogers International Airport’s General Aviation Terminal.

Girls ages 8 to 18 will have opportunities to explore career and lifestyle possibilities in aviation and aerospace by meeting role models, attending career panels, and exploring airplanes and helicopters. The event offers a hands-on approach to spark interest in STEM fields, create networking opportunities, and raise awareness about new possibilities. In addition to educational activities, participants will learn about careers in airlines, air traffic control, the military, airport planning, engineering, and more.

Exhibitors will fill the historic hangar at AAR’s Oklahoma City campus, where professionals will share their experiences and knowledge. The education area will feature opportunities to learn about flight simulators, STEM kits, physics, drones, airspace, and aircraft manufacturing, providing a memorable, hands-on experience for the next generation of Oklahoma’s workforce. Girls and their families will enjoy a complimentary lunch while connecting with fellow attendees. This fantastic event is free and aims to make a direct impact in communities with limited access to aerospace career opportunities, empowering the next generation of aviators.
